Each session has separate versions for the general category, for candidates with disabilities, and for candidates with learning difficulties or over 62. For some sessions from 2021 to 2023 no files were posted. You find them all in the previous exams section of the official website (in Greek).
How to use them
Each session is drawn from the question bank in force at the time. The bank changes from year to year, so past papers do not replace studying the current bank. They are, though, the best way to see what a whole paper looks like.
- Do a whole paper against the clock. Thematic sections and reading and writing together, in 150 minutes, as in the exam.
- Mark yourself with the official rule. 70/100 overall, at least 40/60 in Greek and 20/40 in the thematic sections.
- See where you lost points. If it is the Greek, spend more time on the language part. If it is the thematic sections, go back to the bank.
- Save the most recent papers for last. In the final days before the exam, do the latest ones, because they are closest to what you will see.
Greek Citizen has all 7 sessions in the table, as they were set, with automatic marking. One is free. See also sample questions and how to prepare for 15 November.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I find past papers of the Greek citizenship exam?
On the official website exetaseis-ithageneia.ypes.gr of the General Secretariat for Citizenship, in the previous exams section. They are free, in Greek, and include the answers.
Do the same questions come up again?
Questions are drawn each time from the bank in force. A question that is still in the bank may come up again, but there is no way to know. So study the whole bank, not just past papers.
How many past sessions are available?
The official website has files for seven sessions: May 2021, November 2023, April and November 2024, April and November 2025, and April 2026.
